If you haven’t started to plan your office’s move yet, start now! There’s really no way to fly by the seat of your pants when it comes to successfully moving your office; there are just too many moving pieces. 

If you haven’t started to plan yet, we’d argue that you are wrong, you have! The very fact that you’ve made your way to this blog is evidence that you are at least thinking about what needs to be done in the not-so-distant future. So give yourself a round of applause — the hard part is done!

Okay, now that you’ve patted yourself on the back a sufficient number of times, it’s time to think about logistics. Think about who is doing what, how they’ll be able to do it, where the money is going to come from, and how soon they need to have their ducks in a row for the move to be successful. 

Once you’ve come up for a gameplan that outlines who will be doing what (however vague it is at this point), you’ll want to then think about where everything will be set up in the new location. To do this, you’ll need a blueprint. The blueprint will help inform you of common spaces, offices, and meeting rooms so you can determine how much equipment will be usable for your future space. Ideally, you’ll already have much of this stuff (logistics, budgeting, picking out a moving company) done, but better late than never!

Failing to do so is a great way to get them to hate you, which is worth avoiding in our estimation.
